ANTHEA WOOD

Hello! I am Anthea Wood and I am an artist who enjoys painting and printmaking.

I work from my welcoming studio near Wooler, Northumberland, creating paintings and original prints inspired by equestrian and local rural scenes. Oil paintings sit drying on the studio bench, while linoprints dangle from overhead, awaiting their next layer of ink.

I am a Friend member of the Society of Equestrian Artists and currently hold the position of Chair.

I draw inspiration from my local surroundings and enjoy sharing the joys of creativity locally through Inky Fingers kids art club as well as through the delivery of  community initiatives in partnership with the Glendale Gateway Trust.

I am committed to improving and developing my own painting practice. My works are on display at the wonderful Ingram Cafe in the heart of the beautiful Breamish and Ingram Valley, a great source of inspiration to me.

Thank you for visiting my website.

Horse in Art 2025

I'm very pleased to have had a painting accepted for this year's Horse in Art exhibition held at The Garden Rooms at Tennants from 7 October - 1 November 2025.

The painting is called 'Men about Town' and is painting one of four of the Golega Nightlife Series inspired by an equestrian festival in Portugal. To find out more about the paintings in this series, please get in touch.
